The B&D Industries, Inc. design-build team assisted in the construction of PNM’s new 32,000 sq. ft. Data Center. The building consisted of 27,000 sq. ft. of raised computer flooring. This unique challenge required us to complete all of the over head and under floor work in order to drop the floor in place. B&D installed all of the electrical, lighting, fire alarm security/access controls, three generators and a complex transformer switching system for emergency power. B&D equipped the building with a 3,000 amp double ended switch gear system with a 480 volt circuit breaker. We also installed telecommunications to the administrative portion of the building, and four 250KVA UPS and PDU units.

B&D worked with the HVAC contractor, IT contractor and General Contractor very closely to schedule the work processes to ensure a coordinated effort. In addition, B&D worked with the engineering firm to commission the electrical system for a LEED certification.

B&D received an award for “exemplary work” from the Associated General Contractors of America for this project.
