What a catchy and hot topic: but, at B&D Industries, Inc. we take building and redesigning our client’s infrastructure in the most environmentally conscious and cost effective manner very seriously.

We strongly support our community by maximizing energy efficiency, minimizing pollution and utilizing renewable resources whenever we can. We accomplish this by reducing the dependency on the electrical grid and fossil fuels, while also providing advice, education and the promotion of environmentally sound solutions. We believe we have an obligation to implement sustainable energy practices whenever possible. We primarily fulfill this goal by utilizing both Green Building and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building practices.

Green Building

Green Building is the practice of increasing the efficiency with which buildings use resources — energy, water, and materials — while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment during the building’s lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance and removal.

LEED Building

LEED Building promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

LEED is a certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance.
