When Herman Sanchez Community Center was originally built, a kiln room was not part of the plan.

To accommodate their need to offer ceramic classes, a storage room located in the back of the facility was converted into a kiln room. Since the converted kiln room was not designed for this application, inadequate ventilation began causing nails to heat up through the sheetrock and burn through the paint. B&D partnered with a local engineering firm and designed a true kiln room application.

This engineered job included adding adequate ventilation, tempered make-up air and a stainless steel heat deterrent skin that covered the walls of the kiln room. Safety controls were added to prevent over heating of the equipment.
